Sony Cyber-shot Video Converter for Mac convert avchd video on mac

Many friends have one in hand or is having one, as soon as they get one, how to import Sony Cyber-Shot footage to Mac, edit Cyber-Shot footage on Mac, Upload Cyber-Shot footage to YouTube, Hulu has been a import question for any a new AVCHD camcorder user as well as a fresh Mac user.
Firstly figure out which Sony Cyber-Shot mode you are using:

Here we only refer to Sony Cyber-Shot series recording AVCHD/MP4 format, AVI MPEG Motion(Cyber-shot DSC-W530) isn't in the issue. You can easily find your Cyber-Shot mode and know clearly what format it recording and whether it support AVCHD and MP4 both. Supposed you have an iMac version 10.6.8 & you're trying to transfer HD videos to iPhoto but it doesn't even recognize that there are any. You've searched around but can't find any solid answers. From the above you know your Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-HX9V shot video in the .mts format which is not supported/recognized by iPhoto/iMovie/QuickTime. So you just need a good Sony Cyber-Shot to Mac Converter to convert the .mts video to the Mac supported .mov format.
